Haggs Castle Golf Club from June 16 to 18 will be spearheaded by the Kilmacolm club's Briggs sisters who both reached the semi-finals of the 100th Scottish women's amateur championship at Prestwick Golf Club last week.
Eilidh will also be making her Curtis Cup debut for GB and I at St Louis, Missouri in the June 6 to 8 match.

KYLIE WALKER WINS HER FIRST LADIES EUROPEAN TOUR EVENT

Glasgow’s Kylie Walker earned her maiden Ladies European Tour victory at the Deloitte Ladies Open in the Netherlands after a dramatic three-player play-off against Nikki Campbell and Malene Jorgensen at The International near Amsterdam Airport.
Having led by two strokes after both the first and second rounds, the Scot shot 69, 72 and 72 in the three-round event to tie with Campbell and Jorgensen on 213, six-under-par.
The 27-year-old from Glasgow then sealed the wire-to-wire win - worth 37,500 euros to her - by holing a birdie putt of 20 feet on the second extra hole, the 506-yard par-5 18th, playing over water.

“Amazing; absolutely brilliant. I’m delighted,” said Walker. “I’ve been in play-offs to get in the British Open and US Open but not to win on the LET. I was just really trying to win and I kept giving myself chances and not quite making the putts, although I did putt quite well. A lot of them looked good and didn’t go in, so I’m delighted to win in the end.”

On the second play-off hole, Jorgensen made par before Walker perfectly judged her birdie putt. “With the crowd erupting it almost overwhelmed me, with everyone screaming,” said Walker, whose previous best finish in five years on the LET was a tie for fourth at the 2011 Prague Masters.

Walker had a chance to win in regulation play after reaching the 18th green in two shots but three putted from across the green.

Her second round began well when she made a birdie putt of 15 feet on the second hole, but she dropped a shot on the par-5 third, before making her second birdie of the day on the seventh. From there she came home with 11 straight steady pars.

Earlier in the day, Campbell fired five birdies in her first eight holes and overtook Walker with her birdie on the sixth before picking up another shot on the par-5 eighth. However the 33-year-old Australian three-putted on 15 to drop back into a share of the lead.

Denmark’s Jorgensen set the clubhouse target after firing a flawless six-under 67 in warm and sunny conditions and after ending second in Turkey, she finished runner-up for the second LET event in a row.
Three Scots finished in the top 20.
Vikki Laing from Musselburgh earned 5,000 Euros for a share of ninth place with scores of 71, 77 and 69 for two-under-par 217.
Edinburgh-born Sally Watson earned 3,917 for a joint 13th place finish on level par 219 with scores of 74, 72 and 73.
Kelsey Macdonald and Heather MacRae tied for 34th place on 223 to earn 2,100 euros each. Kelsey score 75, 75 and 73; Heather 75, 72 and 76.
Carly Booth tied for 52nd place on 226 with scores of 75, 75 and 73. She earned 1,125 Euros.

HANNAH McCOOK PIPS AILSA SUMMERS FOR MUNROSS TROPHY AT MONTROSE

Stirling student Hannah McCook (Grantown on Spey) pipped St Andrews student Ailsa Summers (Carnoustie Ladies) for the Munross Trophy at the end of the 36-hole SLGA Order of Merit event at Montrose Links.
McCook, beaten by the eventual champion, Connie Jaffrey, in the second round of last week's 100th Scottish women's amateur championship, had rounds of 77 and a very good 69 for a total of 146.
That gave her a one-shot victory from Summers, the No 2 seed at Prestwick where she was a beaten quarter-finals.
Ailsa had rounds of 76 and 71 for 147.
Troon youngster Hazel MacGarvie (78-70) and Iona Stephen (Wentworth) (72-76) tied for third place on 148.
MacGarvie, who plays off three, won the top handicap award with a net 36-hole aggrgate of 142 - a shot ahead of Strathaven five-handicapper Kirsten Brown.

KYLIE WALKER STILL THE LEADER AT THE DELOITTE LADIES OPEN AFTER ROUND 2

Scotland's Kylie Walker posted a second round of one-under-par 72 in windy conditions at The International - Amsterdam Airport - on Saturday morning to maintain a two stroke lead in the Deloitte Ladies Open.

The Glaswegian 27-year-old ended the day at five-under ahead of Thailand's Titliya Plucksataporn, with five players sharing third on two-under-par.

GABRIELLE WINS AT THE 19TH IN CLASSIC 100th FINAL

Gabrielle MacDonald, 21 year-old St Andrews University student from Edinburgh, beat the top seed, 17-year-old Connie Jaffrey (Troon Ladies) at the 19th hole in a 4hr 6min marathon final climax to the 100th Scottish women's amateur golf championship at Prestwick Golf Club, birthplace of the Open.
Craigielaw Golf Club member Gabrielle was the 10th of the 32 qualifiers for the match-play stages so she entered the championship match very much the underdog against Connie who marked her debut in the event by being the leading qualifier and beating Curtis Cup debutante Eilidh Briggs (Kilmacolm) in the semi-finals (Eilidh's older sister Megan lost to MacDonald in the other penultimate tie.
It was a classic match-play final with first one player, then the other holding the whiphand.
Gabrielle, who fancies finding out, once she has graduated, whether or not she is a good enough golfer to make the grade in the pro ranks, was in the driving seat after nine holes - two up, after shaking off a potentially demoralsing double-bogey 6 start to birdie the third, eighth and ninth
Young Jaffrey, runner-up in the recent "Helen Holm" Scottish stroke play at Troon, then had her purple patch to win the 10th, 11th and 12th, the latter two holes with birdies, to transform her position into a one-hole lead.
But MacDonald, who said later she never felt under real pressure at any time, square the contest with a pitch-and-putt par 4 at the 13th and then birdied the 16th with a pitching wedge approach and an 8ft putt to go one up.
Jaffrey, who enrols at Kansas State University in August, was not yet to admit defeat against an opponent who would not be subued. Connie birdied the 17th to draw level again. With the tension mounting, MacDonald, with nerves of steel, holed a 5ft putt at the 18th for a half in 4.
Jaffrey had completed the 18 holes in an approximate 75 (one over par) to MacDonald's 76
Banishing memories of her double bogey 6 at the opening hole around four hours earlier, MacDonald produced a cast-iron 4 to a bogey 5 by Jaffrey who had missed the green left with her approach and had to pitch over a bunker.
"I just ran out of shots," said Connie when it was over. "I'm a little bit down, having had such a great week and not being able to finish it off with a win but I'll get over it."
MacDonald said: "I was always comfortable and just tried to play my own game, hit the fairways, stay out of trouble and keep hitting greens. I enjoyed it immensely but I feel a little bit sorry for Connie who has had an outstanding week. At 17 she is a great prospect for Scottish ladies golf to have."
Next year's Scottish women's amateur championship will be played at Monifieth.

Glasgow's Kylie Walker opened with a four-under par 69 at The International in Amsterdam today -  Friday took a two stroke lead after the first round of the Deloitte Ladies Open.

Playing under clear blue skies in temperatures of 20C, the 27-year-old Carrick on Loch Lomond player took advantage of the near perfect scoring conditions to reel off six birdies and two bogeys in the late afternoon sunshine, breaking two clear of nine other players.

CONNIE SETS UP THE CHANCE OF HISTORY BY REACHING THE FINAL OF THE SCOTTISH AT PRESTWICK

Connie Jaffrey (Troon Ladies) set her sights on history after she defeated Eildih Briggs (Kilmacolm) by 2 and 1 in the semi-final of the Scottish Ladies’ Championship at Prestwick.

In the 100th staging of the Championship, the 17-year-old has the chance to become the youngest ever winner and the first to hold both the Scottish Girls’ and Scottish Ladies’ titles.

Standing in her way is Gabrielle MacDonald (Craigielaw). In the semi-finals, the 21-year-old ended the hopes of the older of the Briggs’ sisters, Megan, with a 3 and 2 victory.

Jaffrey, the leading strokeplay qualifier, had beaten Lesley Atkins (Gullane) by 2 and 1 in the quarter-finals and she was never behind in the last four match against Briggs, who will be flying to the States on Monday to represent GB and Ireland in next month’s Curtis Cup.

The teenager’s short game was the key, the highlight being a 45-foot birdie putt from off the green at the sixth.

“It’s amazing to go through,” said Jaffrey. “I was hoping to make the semi-finals this week so to get into the final is a bonus. Eildih is a great player and I knew it was going to be a tough match.”

Last month, Jaffrey was runner-up in the Helen Holm Scottish Open Strokeplay Championship and she attributes the great run of form to hard work and determination.

“I had a setback a couple of years ago when I missed out on some teams.” She explained. “But then I started working really hard with a psychologist and my coach George Boswell. I was determined to prove some people wrong.”

MacDonald won the battle of the St Andrews University students in the last eight with a 3 and 2 win over Ailsa Summers (Carnoustie) and closed out her match with Briggs with wins at the 13th, 15th and 16th.

With her boyfriend and fellow Geography student, Guy Dalziel, as her caddie, MacDonald admitted that her second round win over Clara Young and then the triumph over Summers were a huge confidence boost.

“I play Ailsa a lot at St Andrews but this is the first time I have beaten her,” she said. “Everyone at the university is great and I get a lot of support. “

Completing a good day for Troon Ladies’ teenagers, 16-year-old Emma Hale won the Clark Rosebowl, defeating Carol Whyte (Milngavie) by 2 and1 in the final.

The Briggs sisters from the Kilmacolm club are still on course to meet in the final of the 100th Scottish women's amateur championship at Prestwick on Saturday morning.
In the quarter-finals on a bright but cool morning Curtis Cup debutante and Stirling PE student Eilidh, the No 4 seed, won by 2 and 1 against Lesley Atkins (Gullane), while older sister Megan, the 2009 champion and a Glasgow solicitor, reached the last four with a 2 and 1 win over Rachel Walker (Dumfries and County).
Top seed and last year's Scottish U18 girls champion Connie Jaffrey is still there. She will meet Eilidh in the first semi-final after scoring a 2 and 1 come-from-behind win over Lauren Whyte (St Regulus).
Megan Briggs will play St Andrews student Gabrielle MacDonald (Craigielaw) in the other semi-final.
The latter knocked out the university team-mate and No 2 seed, Ailsa Summers (Carnoustie) by 3 and 2.

Lesley Atkins (Gullane) knocked out defending champion, Alyson McKechin (Elderslie), by 2 and 1 to make it through to the quarter-finals of the Scottish Ladies’ Championship at Prestwick.
The 19-year-old claimed it was a career best win and her reward is a last eight match against Kilmacolm’s Eilidh Briggs, who will be playing for GB and Ireland in next month’s Curtis Cup at St Louis Country Club.
Two down at the turn, Atkins, who is in her first year at Florida International University, drew level at the 14th and then crucially made a birdie at the 16th to edge one ahead. A bogey at the 17th was good enough to win both the hole and the match.
“I was nervous at the start and towards the end,” she admitted. “I’m loving my time in Florida and definitely feel my best golf is yet to come.”

Teenager Connie Jaffrey, the leading strokeplay qualifier, continued an impressive run through to the quarter-finals.  Level par in the first round, the 17-year-old Scottish Girls’ Champion defeated her Troon Ladies’ clubmate Jane Finnie by 6 and 5 and was then three under par in ousting Hannah McCook (Grantown-On-Spey) by 5 and 4 at the last 16 stage.
In the second round, Jaffrey won the first two holes in par and then had a sparkling run – birdie, birdie, eagle – from the seventh to turn for home with the five hole advantage. The three at the ninth was quite straightforward – a drive, rescue club to five feet and a single putt.
In the quarter-finals, Jaffrey will face the 2012 Scottish Girls’ Champion, Lauren Whyte – the St Regulus youngster advanced with a 4 and 2 win over Milngavie’s Nichola Ferguson.
Megan Briggs, the older of the Kilmacolm sisters, kept up her hopes of repeating her 2009 triumph with a comfortable 5 and 3 victory over Kate McIntosh (Broomieknowe) and she now meets Rachel Walker (Dumfries and County).
The last of the quarter-finals is Ailsa Summers (Carnoustie) versus Gabrielle MacDonald (Craigielaw), who won an all East Lothian tie 2 and 1 against last year’s beaten finalist, Clara Young (North Berwick).
