West of Scotland's Pamela Pretswell (Bothwell Castle) almost made it to the top of the class in today's first round of the Portuguese Womens' Open Amateur Golf Championship over the Oceanico O'Connor Jun course at the Amendoeira course on the Algarve.
Pamela had birdies at the par-4 second and two short holes on the home stretch, the 13th and 17th in halves of 36 and 35. Her round of 71 was in 2nd place behind Holly Clyburn (England)
