A final  footnote to one of your webmaster's memories was :
In 2003 all clubs in Renfrewshire were represented at a meeting to hear more details of the CONGU system that is proposed to be introduced in February 2004. Nancy Chisholm from the SLGA with her "handicap hat on" as the West of Scotland no longer has a Handicap Advisor, reported exceedingly well on the many decisions that have been made. She also gave some advice for the handicap secretaries and their committees. However, the CONGU system is still to be ratified in Scotland at the SLGA AGM in Perth on Wednesday 26th November. -- CLICK HERE TO READ MORE
Now in 2021 -- We are going through it all again with the new WHS handicap system  -- I AM SURE YOU ARE GLAD TO BE OUT OF THIS ONE !!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

CHRISTMAS FUN AT WEST KILBRIDE AND A MESSAGE TO CAROLFELLGOLF

Normally West Kilbride Ladies would have a Christmas themed golf competition but with the wind and rain last Thursday a change of plan was put into action.

Fun Games with Elf Catherine Garrett (Ladies Convenor)

Catherine Garrett (Ladies Convenor), ably assisted by Linzi Dye (Assistant Pro), put together indoor golf games......teams of 6 undertook chipping, chipping with left handed clubs, and putting, all using rather unorthodox golf balls and playing to very small targets that included water hazards which made scoring rather difficult!!  lots of laughs 'tho 🙂

There was throwing/rolling a £1 to a bottle of prosecco which raised £50 for the Salvation Army and a Christmas Quiz followed while we enjoyed lunch.

Catherine presented Nancy Chisholm with a gift from Santa.....a 'thank you' for Nancy's Nuggets which we all enjoyed reading in the monthly newsletter from the Lady Convenor.

All in all we had a fabulous time and definitely voted indoors was better than on the golf course!

"Wishing you a very Happy Christmas, Carol   ...........had to put the comma after Christmas otherwise it reads like a song" 🙂

Merry Christmas to all the ladies at West Kilbride and thanks go to June Kerr for the news and photos

HELEN HOLM - DAY 2 - SHANNON MCWILLIAM IS THE LEADING SCOT

Slovenia’s Pia Babnik continued her good form on Day 2 at the 2019 Helen Holm Scottish Women’s Open with a three-under-par round of 69 at Royal Troon on Saturday.

Babnik, who is currently seeking a spot in Europe’s PING Junior Solheim Cup Team, remained consistent to extend her lead over the 120-strong field to three.

Speaking to Scottish Golf following a bogey-free back nine, which also included four birdies, McWilliam was pleased with how she played, saying: “I played pretty solid on the back nine today, I had eagle putts on 11 and 12 that didn’t drop but overall I am quite happy with the way I finished my round.”

McWilliam is one of five Scots  inside the top 10 and with 18 holes left to play, the youngster from Aboyne is looking forward to playing in one of the final groups out tomorrow: “I am looking forward to playing Royal Troon Old Course tomorrow, all I can do is go out there and give it my best shot.
