Clare Queen is 5th in the UNIQA Ladies Open where Laura Davies is a winner

Laura Davies produced a vintage performance to end a 13-month wait for a title at the UNIQA Ladies Open near Vienna in Austria today.
The 43-year-old from England added a final day six-under-par 66 to her previous rounds of 69 and 65 - (which was a new course record) – to claim her 36th Ladies European Tour title and her 68th in total.
Laura finished on 16-under-par 200 after 54 holes, four strokes ahead of Sweden’s Sophie Gustafson in second.

Clare Queen (The Carrick (Loch Lomond) shot a third-round 68, one of her best rounds of the season. She had 16 birdies and one double bogey over the 54 holes. In her final round she reached five-under-par 211 with birdies at the second, seventh, ninth, 10th, 14th and 15th. Clare bogeyed the 13th and 17th. Her cash prize amounted to 8,750 Euros.
Inverness-based New Zealander Liz McKinnon had one of her better finishes of the season - joint 12th on two-under-par 214 with rounds of 70, 70 and 74 to earn 3,771 Euros. Her late birdies at the 15th and 16th came just at the right time to boost her finishing position

Scottish Ladies Open Play delayed

The second day’s play at the De Vere Ladies Scottish Open was halted due to bad light at 7.10pm.
Heavy rainfall on Thursday night meant that tee times were pushed back three hours while officials assessed the course.
Sweden’s Sofia Renell leads the field on two-under-par 140 after shooting a three-under 68.
South Queensferry 16-year-old amateur Sally Watson had another good day with a 75 for 145, a 36-hole total which puts her ahead of professionals of the calibre of Janice moodie (146), Catriona Matthew (148) and Lynn Kenny (148).
Quite a few players have still to complete their second rounds which means that the third and final round will start late on Saturday.

The Garten Girls at Milngavie

The 2007 Spring Meeting of the Garten Girls took place at Milngavie Golf Course today. Anna Telfer (Captain of Milngavie) hosted this 6 monthly event today. Helen Faulds, Janice Paterson, Noreen Fenton and Fiona Roger were in Team 1. Emma Wilson, Carol Fell and Anna Telfer were in Team 2. Unfortunately Jennifer Mack was unable to be there --- away on holiday. Emma's team were the winners after the average Stableford points of the teams were calculated. It was a glorious day and everyone had a terrific day.
For those who do not know who the Garton Girls are --- they are the players who entered the Scottish Seniors in 2005 and stayed with Fiona in Boat of Garton
