Fiona Norris (Hamilton), the defending champion, is through to tomorrow morning's (Friday) semi-finals of the Lanarkshire women's county golf championship at Hayston Golf Club.
Unusual for a match-play tournament, the top four seeds all progressed through two rounds to reach the last four.
No 3 seed Fiona, sister of LPGA Tour player Mhairi McKay, will now play the 2008 champion, Susan Wood (Drumpellier), the No 4 qualifier. Norris won both her ties by 7 and 6. She has played in the final five times, winning the title in 1992, 1998 and 2009. She lost in the finals of 1987 and 1989.
In the other semi-final, county captain and No 1 seed, Lesley Lloyd (Hayston) will play former Scottish schoolgirls champion Elaine Cuthill (Lanark), the No 4 qualifier.
Lesley has been beaten finalist in 2002, 2003 and 2008.
