LAUREN WHYTE WINS THE GIRLS UNDER 18 TITLE

Lauren Whyte, 16-year-old St Regulus club member from St Andrews,
will represent Scotland in next week's European Young Masters in Hungary as the new Paul Lawrie Foundation Scottish U18 girls' champion.
She beat Ailsa Summers (Carnoustie Ladies), 18, by 4 and 2 in this morning's 18-hole final over the Crail Golfing Society's Craighead course in Fife.
Lauren, who had beaten the top seed and 2010 champion Lesley Atkins (Gullane Ladies) in the semi-finals, played quality golf to take the measure of international team-mate Ailsa, pictured below, who is the Angus women's county champion (but not the Angus girls title-winner this year).
