SCOTLAND WOMEN WELL OUTSIDE TOP EIGHT MATCH-PLAY QUALIFIERS

Scotland failed to make the top-eight finish in the qualifying stages of the European women's amateur golf team championship at Ljubljanana, Slovenia.
The cut-off mark was 727 with three teams on that total - Switzerland, Italy, Denmark.
The Danes dropped down to Flight 2 on a card countback. The Scots, with a 741 total for 16th place, were nowhere near that figure and will also play in the second flight.
England are the top seeds with a total of 703 after Hayley Davis was the best individual with rounds of 69 and 65 for eight-under 134.
Eilidh Briggs, Scotland's sub-par scorer in the first round, had a 77 on Day 2 but her 147 aggregate was still the best in the team.
Connie Jaffrey (75-73) and Gemma Dryburgh (74-74) totalled 148, two ahead of Alyson McKechin (76-74) with Scottish champion Gabrielle MacDonald on 151 (74-77) and Jess Meek 156 (77 - 79).
