Curtis Cup players turn out for Welsh stroke-play

Four players selected to play for GB and I in next month's Curtis Cup match at Quaker Reid have entered the Welsh women's open amateur stroke-play championship at Aberdovey from May 4 to 6,
They are Paula Grant (Lisburn, Ireland), Shannon McWilliam (Aboyne, Scotland), and the England pair, Lily May Humphreys and Sophie Lamb.

The Welsh tournament, won by another Curtis Cup player, Olivia Mehaffey (Royal Co Down Ladies) in 2015 and 2016, is a 54 hole stroke play event.  

Alongside Grant, four other Irish will compete at the event, which takes place a week before the Irish Open Stroke Play Championship at Co. Louth. European Universities champion Shannon Burke (Ballinrobe) will be joined by Georgia Carr (Milltown), Elisa Corcoran (Grange) and Canice Screene (Hermitage).

Apart from Shannon McWilliam, seven Scots have also entered:


Eilidh Briggs (Kilmacolm), Jasmine Mackintosh (Hazlehead), Jennifer Saxton (Muckhart), Hannah McCook (Grantown on Spey), Chloe Goadby (St Regulus), Gemma Batty (West Linton) and Kimberley Beveridge (Aboyne).
