Anne Judge Wins Renfrewshire County Rosebowl at Cathcart Castle

Captain June Lockhart present the Trophy to Anne Judge
June Lockhart (Captain) Jennifer Graham, Carol McNally, Anne Judge
Sally Smyth and Sandra Littlejohn (Vice Captain)
On what turned out to be a better day than expected weather-wise, Anne Judge (Ranfurly Castle) today, beat Carol McNally (Williamwood ) 3 and 2 in the Renfrewshire County Rosebowl Final at Cathcart Castle.

The front 9 was very closely contended with some great golf by both finalists.  There were no more than one hole of a difference between the two players with Anne winning the 9th to go 1 up on the turn.

At the 14th Carol was 3 down but brought it back to 2 with a excellent par.  Anne sunk an incredible putt on the 15th to halve the hole and went on to win the match 3 and 2 at the 16th.

The course was in excellent condition and beautifully manicured.  However, I think it's fair to say both ladies found the greens extremely fast but agreed they were very true.

Sally Smyth and Jim McNally caddied for Anne and Carol respectively.

Our thanks also go to:

Cathcart Castle Golf Club for granting us courtesy of the course, catering, etc;
Maureen Mitchell (Cathcart Castle) for coming along prior to tee off to ensure all our needs were met;
Our spectator, Jennifer Graham, for supporting both finalists; and
Captain June Lockhart for coming along to do the trophy presentation and photographs.
