Megan and Pamela do well against Ireland in the Girls Home Internationals

Scotland play England tomorrow in what is very likely to be the title decider in the girls' home golf internationals at Southerndown Golf Club, South Wales.
Both countries looked a cut above the opposition in scoring big wins on a windy opening day.
Scotland, the defending champions, beat Ireland 7 1/2-1 1/2 after the Irish had held their own in the foursomes. Scotland won all six singles.
England whitewashed Wales 9-0, winning all three foursomes and six singles.

Foursomes - K Caithness, S Watson bt S Cunningham, A Murphy 4 and 3; C Booth, M Briggs halved with V Bradshaw, S Meadow; K MacDonald, R Niven lost to Lisa Maguire, Leona Maguire 1 hole (1 1/2-1 1/2).
Singles - Booth bt K Gallagher 4 and 3, Watson bt Bradshaw 6 and 5, Niven bt Lisa Maguire 2 and 1, P Pretswell bt L Mernagh 1 hole, Briggs bt Leona Maguire 1 hole, Caithness bt Meadow 5 and 4 (6-0).
