Doreen and Fraser with the Anne Kerr TrophyCongratulations go to Doreen McConnell (Ranfurly Castle and Largs) partnered by Fraser Innes (Largs) when they won the Anne Kerr Trophy at Largs Golf Club yesterday in the Open Mixed Foursomes.
Doreen and Fraser playing off a combined handicap of 9.5 won the Trophy with a 78 net 68.5. Doreen has played in the event since 1982 and this was the first time that she has ever won the Trophy. The Kerr Trophy was originally presented by Davie Kerr of Largs and later renamed the Anne Kerr Trophy after his late wife who was a great friend of Doreen's.
In Doreen's vote of thanks speech she said she was absolutely thrilled to have at last won the main prize and thanked her partner Fraser for helping to finally achieve her goal.
Denise Cowan (Ranfurly Castle) partnered by another Largs player Alex Farmer received the Scratch prize with a 79.
