The Scottish Veteran Ladies' Golf Association (SVLGA)  had to cancel their team events but it’s never to soon to prepare for 2021.

Their 2020 squad of players have started winter matches by visiting East Renfrewshire GC, home club of Gillian Kyle.

Karen Ballantyne (SVLGA Captain) thanked  Gillian for arranging this and to the club for their hospitality and said."Looking at the scores, our players have been working hard on their games during the past few months."

SCOTTISH VETS TRAINING SQUAD

Tomorrow a group of the lowest handicappers in our Association will take part in the first of two Training Sessions with Pete Arnott, Teaching Pro based at Swanston Golf Club, Edinburgh.

Those attending include current Scottish Veteran Ladies Team members together with potential team members.

We were delighted to see improved results in the 2018 Team matches and our current squad of players and officials are very ambitious to improve on a very successful year.  Pete’s approach on the day will be, amongst other things, to show our players how to put themselves under pressure whilst practising.

The players taking part over two days are:

Highland:  Kay Vincent,
East: Jennifer Bryans, Anne Hanson, Caroline Steedman and Wendy Nicolson;
Midland: Linda Allan, Lorna McKinley and Elaine Moffat
North: Jackie Brown and Sheena Wood
West: Donna Jackson, Gillian Kyle, Lesley Lloyd, Liz Stewart, Carol Whyte.

Thanks go to SVLGA Vice Captain Karen Ballantyne for the report - From the SVLGA Facebook page.
