Pamela Feggans earns full playing rights on the European Tour

Lynn Kenny, Krystle Caithness, Vicki Laing and Ayrshire's Pamela Feggans are all celebrating tonight that they can play on every event on the LET if they wish.
Lynn Kenny finished third behind Sweden's Anna Nordqvist (279)
The Curtis Cup player Krystle Caithness finished joint seventh on 289 with a 73 for three-under-par 289
Vikki Laing from Musselburgh, signed off with a 71, the best score by a Scot on the last day, for one-over-par 293.
Pamela Feggans from Patna, Ayrshire had a final round of 76 for three-over 295.
Curtis Cup player and Scottish women's amateur champion Michele Thomson from Ellon bogeyed the very last hole for a 78 and unfortunately missed out by one shot from finishing among the top 30 who earned full playing rights on the 2009 Ladies European Tour at the Final Qualifying School at La Manga Golf Resort, Murcia in south-east Spain.
Michele, 20, finished on seven-over-par 299 over the par-73 South Course, her closing round being her worst of the tournament in which she had played the first three days very steadily. She will get to play in some LET events on the 2009 schedule.

Pamela Feggans makes the Ladies European Tour

A total of 55 players, including 15 amateurs, have earned the chance to play on the Ladies European Tour this year after surviving the 54-hole cut at Final Qualifying School at Murcia, Spain today.
They include FIVE Scots - Lynn Kenny, Krystle Caithness, Pamela Feggans, Michele Thomson and Vikki Laing. Caithness and Thomson, Curtis Cup team-mates at St Andrews last May, have been playing as amateurs but they will be turning professionals now!
All 55 players who made the cut mark of 226, seven-over-par, have secured playing rights for the 2009 season and will progress to the last day.
At the end of Thursday's final round the top 30 players will achieve a higher ranking, which will guarantee their entry into most events.

Sadly two Scots did not make it - Jenna Wilson (Strathaven) and Kylie Walker (Buchanan Castle). Kylie is still an amateur but Jenna played her rookie pro year on the LET last year.

Five Scots - Vikki Laing (291), Pamela Feggans (296) , Kylie Walker (298) -- pictured above, Krystle Caithness (299) and Michele Thomson (304) - all made it through. Feggans and Walker played particularly well on the final day of low temperatures and rain. Pamela had a 68, seven shots better than anything she had achieved in the first three rounds, and Kylie shot a 67, which was also her best by eight shots, Unfortunately Karyn Burns (Mearns Castle) did not make the cut

Pamela Feggans is the best West of Scotland Player at La Manga

Pamela Feggans from Patna, Ayrshire, like Vikki Laing, has played all her pro golf in the United States. She had a 77 today for 152.
Scottish amateur champion Michele Thomson from Ellon is finding birdies hard to come by but a three-over-par 74 at the North Course gave her a two-round tally of nine-over-par 153. Ten over par is the forecast cut-off figure after Saturday's fourth round.
Michele birdied the first and then bogeyed the second, 11th, 12th and 17th.
All the other Scots are on the wrong side of the forecast cut-off figure of 10 over par. Kylie Walker from Buchanan Castle is on 12-over-156 after a pair of 78s; Emily Ogilvy (Auchterarder) is on 15-over 159 after an 82 in the second round; Karyn Burns (Mearns Castle Golf Academy), obviously short of tournament play after years of coaching, is on 23-over 167. She had an 83 today.
Ladybank's Jocelyn Carthew retired after an opening round of 90.

Reset your Mouse for 2009

You should actually do this every year. Even more often is recommended by Carol Fell (the website computer guru) if you spend a lot of time on the computer.

I was shocked to see how well this works, and how far off mine was!
To re-calibrate your mouse, click and hold on the H below, then drag the H toward the d.
If it doesn't work immediately, you might want to clean your mouse, as the calibration is off.

Have a good New year --- and don't believe every word you read

Thanks for this one from D&A's Jean Campbell with a little modification from Carol

The Ladies Scottish Open will not take place in 2009

Lynn Mitchell who organised caddies for last years Ladies Scottish Open has sent in this message:
I can only apologise for the delay in getting this information out to you but I have only recently received an email from Harry confirming that the Ladies Scottish Open will not be taking place next year 2009.
……“Unfortunately the Ladies Scottish Open will not be taking place next year. The majority of our sponsors were keen to sign up again (Aberdeen and EventScotland were committed) but due to the current economic climate we were not able to make up the shortfall left by one of the partners which is a great shame. We will however see how we can maybe resurrect it for 2010 so I will keep in contact with you should the situation change.”

I would appreciate if you could circulate this information as I do not have an email address for everyone.
I wish you a Merry Christmas and Good New Year and very much hope to be back in contact with you all in the not too distant future.

Many thanks

Kind regards
Lynn Mitchell
