News from Mearns Castle Golf Academy

Range opening times are now back to normal following the completion of the drainage works which represents a further £100,000 investment in the practice facilities at the Academy.

Over the next few weeks the green keeping staff will be installing new permanent distance markers and also upgrading the flag system on the target greens which will complete the upgrade programme.

Thanks to all our customers of their patience throughout this important programme of works which were sure will bring long term improvements to the range outfield and enhance your enjoyment of the practice range

The Open Mixed Foursomes -- Milngavie Golf Club

Winners of the 2007 Milngavie Open Mixed Foursomes
The Mulguy Wheel, which is an Open Mixed Foursomes competition was held at Milngavie Golf Club on Sunday, May 20th. Several torrential rain showers at noon threatened to cancel the event as several greens badly, but thankfully play continued despite the difficult conditions. Milngavie GC members were prominent amongst the prize winners.

West of Scotland Jenna Wilson wins Scottish Title

Jenna Wilso -- 2007 Scottish Champion

Lanarkshire's Jenna Wilson (Strathaven) won the 2007 Scottish Ladies Amateur Golf Championship at Kilmarnock Barassie today. She beat Emily Olgivie (Auchterarder) 2 and 1 in this mornings final.

Scottish Championship -- Jenna through to Final

Top seed Jenna Wilson from Strathaven is through to the final of the Scottish women's amateur championship for the first time at Kilmarnock Barassie.
She will now meet in Saturday morning's 18-hole final Emily Ogilvy (Auchterarder) -- who beat Michele Thomson (McDonald Ellon) at the 20th hole
