HANNAH DARLING THE ONLY SCOT TO REACH THE LAST 16 AT THE BRITISH GIRLS

Hannah Darling, the youngest ever Scottish girls champion at the age of 14 last year, is the only Scot in the last 16 of the British girls amateur championship at Ardglass Golf Club, Northern Ireland.

She won her opening tie by 2 and 1 against Jess Baker (Gosforth Park) and followed that up with a very good one-hole win over the highly-rated twice former Irish girls champion Annabel Wilson (Lurgan).

Louise Duncan (West Kilbride), the only other Scot to make it to the match-play stages, won her opening tie by 2 and 1 against Nina Lang (Germany) but went down by 2 holes to Sophie Johnson (Enville).
