Want to be a Scorer at the Scottish Ladies Open
Anyone interested in scoring this year at the Scottish Ladies Open?
The Tournament is to be held at the Archerfield in East Lothian 18th - 20th August 2010. Lynn Mitchell is working with Alec and George (chief marshal) this time and so far feeders have been put out to recruit around the local area. They are still unable to verify numbers coming in from that yet but she would still if possible like to have on board some experience in the ranks!
The format as you will see from the information letter below is slighly different from the Carrick. She hopes to use an am/pm rota 'set up' working all 3 days but will also incorporate a cover system and HQ reserves. It is a beautiful course and a very friendly set up.
The drive is approx an hour and thirty/forty minutes from Glasgow.
She would appreciate if you could reply ASAP and/or pass on these details to anyone who you think may be interested.

Kylie Walker joins The Carrick on Loch Lomond
NEWS RELEASE
Long-hitting rookie professional Kylie Walker, a Buchanan Castle Golf Club member as an amateur, has signed up with The Carrick on Loch Lomond golf course management and will represent the club and the course on the Ladies European Tour.
Ross Whitfield, Director of Golf and Estates Cameron House Resort, commented, “It is great to have Kylie associated with The Carrick on Loch Lomond. Kylie has a fine pedigree from her superb amateur career and we are all excited to see how her career transpires. I know she will fit right in at the Carrick with members, visitors and staff alike and will be a worthy ambassador for the club on her travels throughout Europe.”
The Carrick’s reputation has evolved rapidly since its opening in 2006. Not only is it considered one of the finest golf courses in the UK, but also offers the world-class accommodation of the Cameron House Hotel. Both sit proudly on the banks of the famous Loch Lomond and offer up not only some of the finest views anywhere in golf, but also unrivalled levels of quality and service.
Said Kylie Walker:
“The golf course is one of the finest new golf courses and is a great facility to be part of. The course itself is challenging and provides a varied test that will help keep my game in tournament condition when not competing. Coupled with some of the most inspired views I have ever seen and I am thoroughly looking forward to spending time at The Carrick on Loch Lomond."
The facility has a rich pedigree in its young history having played host to some world class golf events in recent years that include the Ladies Scottish Open and the PGA Cup. With plans for further initiatives in the coming months and years, The Carrick will continue to establish itself as one of the finest facilities for golf and leisure in the UK.
Kylie Walker joins 1999 Open champion Paul Lawrie and former British girls champion Clare Queen as members of the Carrick Tour Team.

The Dentist and the Golfer
The man said to the dentist, "Doc, I'm in one heck of a hurry. I have two Buddies sitting out in my car waiting for us to go play golf, so forget about the anesthetic, I don't have time for the gums to get numb. I just want you to pull the tooth, and be done with it! We have a 10:00 AM tee time at the best golf course in town and it's 9:30 already... I don't have time to wait for the anaesthetic to work!'
The dentist thought to himself, "My goodness, this is surely a very brave Man asking to have his tooth pulled without using anything to kill the Pain."
So the dentist asks him, "Which tooth is it sir?"
The man turned to his wife and said, "Open your mouth Honey, and show him.
Thanks go to West Girls Webmaster Anne Wallace for that one

Fiona Norris is the 2010 Lanarkshire Champion
Hamilton's Fiona Norris, sister of LPGA Tour player Mhairi McKay, retained the Lanarkshire women's county golf championship at Hayston Golf Club today
Fiona added to her previous title wins in 1988, 1992 and 2009 by beating the No 1 seed, Lesley Lloyd (Hayston), county captain and daughter of the former Scottish PGA secretary, by 4 and 3 in the final.
Norris, the No 3 qualifier, siezed the initiative by winning the first two holes, the second with a birdie but Lloyd was not overawed and hit back with birdies of her own at the third and sixth to square the match.
Norris was two up at the turn after winning the seventh and eighth. The writing was on the wall for Lloyd when she went three down at the 11th and four down at the next which Norris birdied. The remaining holes were halved in par before they shook hands on the 15th green.
It was the sixth time Lloyd had lost in the final since 1998, the year after she won the Lanark title.
Today's results:
Semi-finals - Lesley Lloyd (Hayston) beat Elaine Cuthill (Lanark) 4 and 3, Fiona Norris (Hamilton) beat Susan Wood (Drumpellier) 3 and 2.
Final - Norris beat Lloyd 4 and 3.

Kylie Walker does well in the Xltec Pro Tour at Hilton Park Golf Club
Cawder's Chris Kelly, the man of the moment in Scottish pro golf, made it back to back wins by heading a field of 47 at the second 36-hole event of the Xltec Pro Tour at Hilton Park Golf Club, near Glasgow today.
Perhaps the day belonged to 24 year old lady professional Corisande Lee from West Lancs, pictured by Cal Carson Golf Agency. Playing in only her third professional event she carded brilliant rounds of 68 and 69 - over a 10% shorter course than her male rivals - to finish joint third overall event on 137.
That secured her £600 of the official prize money, plus a £400 bonus as the leading lady professional, which meant her "take-home pay" to Lancashire was £1,000 - £150 more than the winner and playing partner Chris Kelly, who said “Cori really is one for the future and I am sure it will not be too long until we see her making the same impact on the Ladies European Tour."
Hilton Park amateur Gordon Yates heads to this week’s Lytham Trophy in fine form after also shooting 68 and 69 to finish joint third on 137.
West of Scotland's Kylie Walker finished in joint 13th place and Clare Queen in
