Eilidh Briggs (Kilmacolm) --- the 2010 RLCGA Champion pictured above continued her good run of form with the Scratch prize at our first West of Scotland medal yesterday at Troon Portland. Her score of 73 on a windy day was very pleasing. A few other girls managed to play under their handicaps too so the SSS remained at 75.

Scratch: Eilidh Briggs 73
1st Silver: Emma Caddow (9) 69
2nd Silver: Jorden Ferrie (12) 70

1st Bronze: Alexandra Duffy (27) 76
2nd Bronze: Alexandra Qayum (24) 73

Jorden also won both the silver and bronze medal finals as her handicap had reduced last year from bronze to silver and she had won medals in both sections.

Stableford prize for 29-36 handicaps Kirsten Brown with 45 points

Winner of 9 hole comp for pre-handicap girls Megan McCaig with 41 strokes.

In all 35 girls took part yesterday at Troon Portland and, despite windy conditions making things a little testing, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the event.

Volcanic Dust keeps Scots at home and KOs Portmarnock Seniors' Match

The Scotland Veterans v Ireland Seniors Ladies match fell victim to the Volcanic Dust at 25,000ft!
The annual match for the Mary McKenna Salver was due to be hosted by the Irish at Portmarnock, Dublin on Sunday and Monday, but, with all flights cancelled and the ferry full with last minute bookings, there was no way the Scots could get across the Irish Sea.
Skipper Pamela Williamson said "Our match is postponed till October, date to be confirmed. Sad, but we are all off for a game on The Duke's!"
West of Scotland players in the Scottish team were Helen Faulds (Douglas Park)-- Scottish Vets Vice Captain and Alex Glennie (Kilmarnock Barassie)
